SkyStoneTrading.com is owned and operated by
Julia Audrey and Paul O'Connell in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
SkyStone has been an online business for over ten years specializing in fine
turquoise/silver jewelry and unique
Native American art.
The jewelry you see on this site is all carefully hand-chosen for
the quality of the stones, silversmithing and overall design.
They are handmade by the most talented Native and anglo jewelers producing in the
Southwest today. We have no retail storefront in town, it is strictly an online business.
Coco Bean, female lab-mix rescued from Baja, Mexico, now 11, and Blackie O'C, 3 year old Santa Fe rescued kitty,
round out the company as V.P. and Secretary. SkyStone donates a portion of its proceeds to Native American arts and education.
Turquoise can be enjoyed and appreciated on a number of levels. It is a stone of blessings, prosperity and healing.
The more you know about it, the more interesting it is, and it can take a lifetime to learn all there is. Turquoise is a finite material, and mining today is an expensive, risky undertaking.
At least 99% off all turquoise mined needs to be treated in some way to be useful.
Only 3% of the turquoise you see on the market is American, the rest comes from China and Iran.
The 1% of natural, gem-grade American turquoise you see on this website is mostly from mines long closed or
no longer in existence. The one of a kind stones
come from old collections belonging to miners, dealers
and rock hounds and when it's gone, it's gone. It cannot be overstated how rare and soon to be extinct this material is.
There's just something about this turquoise that you once you see, feel and wear it,
you'll say 'so that is what
it is all about.' Turquoise chooses you: listen for the piece that calls to you. It is an intangible,
personal thing we respect so if you need to return or exchange something, it's no biggie, that
just means you haven't found the right one yet. Every piece was made for somebody.
Turquoise is uplifting and calming to wear. All the jewelry you see on this site
is hand-fabricated from sterling silver, by award-winning native Navajo, Zuni, Santo Domingo jewelers and reknowned Santa Fe Anglo jewelers
and are one-of-a-kind pieces that cannot be duplicated. Everything offered on the website
is hand-chosen for quality, uniqueness and timeless beauty.
Certificates of authenticity with the artist and tribal affiliation accompany every piece
that goes out in a gift box in an anti-tarnish bag with a polish cloth for stones and silver.

About Turquoise Page, it's like visiting
a virtual turquoise museum.

The site is updated almost on a weekly basis.
We communicate our plans on the What's New Page
which was designed so you can
go there and quickly read about what to expect in the near future. We may have
a Topic of the Week written up which is an essay, with images,
about some aspect of the business
we represent. The Past Topic Catalog Page is an easy
resource for finding a topic that interests you and getting to it quickly.
Don't forget to use the "Search" Function
available at the top-right of all pages. It will query our database and bring up only those items that
you're looking for. Also, all images are thumbnails that can be clicked
on to see more angles of the item. There are usually three to four more pictures of an item beyond what you
see on the initial page.
The Guestbook has many comments from past customers and visitors.
Please visit and if you'd like to write something, thank you in advance for your thoughts, comments and suggestions
regarding your experience with our company, jewelry, service etc. either as a visitor or customer.
We hope you enjoy visiting here, and find it worthy of your time. It is with great gratitude and appreciation that we offer these pieces to you.
May you learn about, wear and enjoy turquoise in good health and
high spirits. Paul O'Connell and Julia Audrey
